Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, but many risk factors are preventable. Early detection, healthy lifestyle choices, and routine medical care play a vital role in reducing risk and identifying concerns before they become serious.
Here at TP Health Multispecialty Clinic, we take heart health seriously.
We offer two important diagnostic tests to help evaluate your heart health, including EKG testing and ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) testing, which provide valuable insight into heart function and overall cardiovascular wellness. In addition, we have a Cardiologist on staff who is available to provide specialized care when needed.
Heart-healthy habits you can start today include:
- Eating a balanced, heart-healthy diet
- Staying physically active
- Managing stress effectively
- Monitoring blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar
- Keeping up with routine wellness and preventive visits
What are EKG and ANS Testing?
EKG
EKG (Electrocardiogram) testing records the electrical activity of the heart to evaluate how well your heart is functioning. It helps identify irregular heart rhythms, signs of heart strain, previous or current heart injury, and other cardiac abnormalities. EKG testing is quick, painless, and noninvasive, making it a valuable tool for early detection and ongoing monitoring of heart health.
ANS
ANS (Autonomic Nervous System) testing evaluates how well your body automatically responds to stress and daily activities. It measures the balance between your fight-or-flight and rest- and-digest systems and can show signs of chronic stress.
The test assesses heart rate response, blood pressure stability when standing, and early signs of autonomic dysfunction—often before symptoms worsen. It also measures how quickly your body recovers from stress and how well it adapts to physical or emotional demands.
ANS testing may help identify patterns linked to conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes-related nerve issues, chronic fatigue, dizziness, POTS, and anxiety-related symptoms. Results help guide personalized lifestyle changes, medication adjustments, and track improvement over time.
